About Our School
Pimpisa Klinchan Couillard spent more than 1,000 hours learning the science of Thai and therapeutic massage in her homeland of Thailand. When she moved to the United States more than two decades ago, she had a difficult time finding other masseuses that shared her philosophy of Eastern massage. And so began the Michigan School of Massage, to teach others how to skillfully integrate Eastern and Western massage philosophies into one therapeutic and restorative practice.
Eastern massage seeks to restore balance in the body’s energy systems and promote holistic well-being while Western massage focus on physical relaxation and tension relief. The philosophy of study at Michigan School of Massage combines the teaching of both styles to enable practitioners to stretch and align the body during a relaxing and soothing massage.
The multi-faceted approach of traditional classroom and hands-on teaching gives those seeking therapeutic massage training the knowledge and experience they need to become successful massage therapists.
